Unfortunately, like the afternoon movies, the primetime movies are also dubbed in tagalong (Pilipino dialect)  Sad to say, if you can’t beat em cause you can’t afford cable TV, then join em by watching local channels. All local channels to date have followed this practice. All movies are dubbed SOB SOB SOB

it seems that people are having nosebleeds just by watching English movies. Whatever gave me that idea? They have am advertisement/commercial saying why not watch your favorite in this local channels, it won’t make your nose bleed cause we’d dub them APPLAUSE APPLAUSE Gosh, what about us ? The few who appreciate a good movie on its natural form ?

 

Nevertheless the show must go on. For tonight their showing a rather nice movie titled THEEAGLE, a 2011 historical epic film starring Channing Tatum, Jamie Bell, and Donald Sutherland. the film tells the story of a young Roman officer searching to recover the lost Roman eagle standard of his father's legion in the northern part of Great Britain.

My husband’s comment : Why not just make another one? It’s just steel or gold or something? Let them have it. FACT : The story is based on the Ninth Spanish Legion's supposed disappearance in Britain.

It was a good movie, there was a lot of action and a lot of heart. It’s a movie about loyalty between master & slave that flourished into a deep friendship. Another realization here is that the Romans suck hahaha well in most movies they often do. Killing, burning, raping. I am not an expert in roman history so this is just an observation in the movies I saw. Maybe when I have the chance I’d look into it. Again, this movie would be a great watch in its original form – English.

ZEUS is down !!!

My all time favorite for the US President VS Terrorist Themed movies is none other than Harrison Fords’ AIR FORCE ONE. For me, it is the undisputed best ! There’s of course the US President for “Independence Day” Bill Pullman, but it’s terrorism by aliens so it doesn’t count. 

OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, it has a Godly ring to it doesn’t it? Mount Olympus is where the Great Zeus lives so it’s just fitting to put it in contrast with the white house where the most powerful man in the world lives. And when they say fallen, I mean they really meant it. This movie aimed to illustrate a destroyed White House, ALL of the secret service killed, together with a lot of policemen & innocent bystanders in just 12 minutes. Don’t worry, the scene was not gory, it was action packed yet filled with emotions. Unlike AIR FORCE ONE wherein the US President kicked Ass, here a lone shelved secret service went RAMBO & saved the US President all by himself. It was not “fantastic” so to say that his moves were far-fetched. It was a combination of brains & brawn. Success in any endeavor will prove successful in knowing significant information, in his case the ins & out of the White House literally. 

Officially, Olympus has Fallen is NOW my No. 1. It’s a collectors’ item. And it’s a movie you would want to watch over & over & over again. Hands up to Gerard Butler, the lone secret service Mike Banning turned Rambo ! Also to Aaron Eckhart as US President Benjamin Ascher, I liked him better here than as 2 Face in Batman, he is more of a Hero beauty than a Villain to me LOL.

PREMIUM RUSH

True to its title this movie would definitely give you a rush. The whole story is about events amounting from 2 to 3 hours of none stop bike action. Nothing hi-tech, no special effects what so ever, just plain cycling power. It contains numerous flash-forward and flashback cuts of events so you have to stay focused – KEEP UP ! There was no dull moment ! It also showed that despite technology - emails, text & the likes, there’s still nothing like “bicycle messenger” ! No wonder they’re considered in the streets of new York, they get the job done. 

A final note thou: Up to this age & time, is it really true that people are still being smuggled from mainland ? So sad. I noticed that this issue always comes up in movies. 

This movie is a GREAT watch !
